Our Story
How We Met
High school, though a very tumultuous place, was the first thing Bethany and Hayden had in common! It would be about 4 years until fate would find them in the middle of a pandemic and reconnecting over a shared interest, video games. In May of 2020, the two would spend nearly every night together playing games, watching movies, sharing what they'd been up to since high school, and helping prepare for the arrival of Hayden's niece. By the end of May, a relationship had developed, and it seems they've been inseparable ever since! The rest of the story can be filled in by their lovely friends and family, who have supported them for the entire journey.
The Proposal
After years of sharing a home, pets, family, and experiences, the time had come to make the union official. In 2023, Bethany and Hayden went to the Phoenix Art Museum to celebrate Beth's birthday. With a not-so-inconspicuous bag holding the ring in his hand, Hayden walked through every exhibit listening closely to Bethany's commentary on the pieces. When they had arrived to the spot he had seen himself proposing, the famed "Yayoi Kusama Fireflies Infinity Mirror Room," they had learned that it was closed for renovation for the first time in years. This shocking revelation left Hayden with one last choice; the seating area between the gift shop and the rest room. Luckily for him, the downgrade in scenery still landed him a "yes" to the question.
