How We Met
We met through Carmen’s Aunt Dina. We were both attending a party at her home. Marissa and Dina were coworkers; went to the party with her dad. When she saw Carmen, she immediately fell in love with his "bad boy" look, but also how good of a father he was because he was there with SkyeLeigh. Watching them interact was the cutest thing she'd ever seen. Marissa leaned over to her dad and pointed at Carmen and said “I’m going to marry him one day”…. Anthony and Carmen spent most of the party talking about being a father and having daughters. Later on Dina introduced Carmen and Marissa, later that week they friended one another on facebook and went on their first date.
The Proposal
It was New Year’s Eve; Marissa had no idea it was happening that night, but knew it was coming soon as marriage was a topic of conversation for many months prior. As the ball dropped Carmen got down on one knee. Marissa was too happy to even respond, but eventually got the “yes” out. It was in our home with our children present, it could not have been more perfect.
