Our Story
How We Met
It all started our freshman year of college in Choron Ryan's Anatomy and Physiology lecture. Our paths crossed and an occasional "hello" or "wow this course is stressful" was shared. We found ourselves in a handful of courses together after this but it wasn't until our junior year of college that we finally decided to go out on a date. We instantly found ourselves becoming enamored with each other. We couldn't fathom the similarities, shared interests and passions, same life views and beliefs we had with one another. It was a match made to be.
The Proposal
In May 2023, we took a trip up to Anchorage, Alaska from our new home in Tucson, Arizona. We brought our 5-month-old puppy with us and had been enjoying taking her on walks to various hiking spots around the areas where we grew up. On Tuesday, May 16th, Dayton suggested taking Rue to Point Woronzof in the evening. We took a walk down the coastline, a spot that felt so familiar as we grew up coming to Pt. Woronzof, watching the sunset, collecting rocks by the water, and climbing the rocks looking at all the colorful graffiti art. This evening we did all those same activities, except one thing was different. While I was busy searching for some sea glass or a sand dollar if I was really lucky, Dayton came across some graffiti on a large pillar that read "This is the sign, do it." Although I did not find a sand dollar, I was even luckier because this was the night Dayton proposed to me.
