How We Met
We met at work in December of 2012, and it was not exactly love at first site. In fact, we once had a pretty intense argument over which one of us was responsible for performing urine eosinophil testing in our assigned department. During another one of our healthy, laboratory debates, our co-worker pointed the speakers directly at us and played "Something There" from "Beauty and the Beast." We incredulously shook our heads and darted off in different directions; but as its it turns out, our co-worker was right. Eventually, we became friends, then housemates and finally partners in life. It has been an unexpected journey, but our love for one another grew from mutual respect and shared values. We complement each other in the best ways and are so happy we took a chance on us!
The Proposal
Nathan surprised me with a trip to Skamania Lodge in the Columbia River Gorge. During a morning hike, he asked me to marry him with a beautiful ring he had designed using a stone passed down from my grandmother.
