Our Story

How We Met

It all started with a simple swipe right of a finger and message complimenting my St. Patrick's Day outfit on Hinge. We met in person two days later at a bar in Lawrenceville and we have been inseparable since. A whirlwind romance some would say. The saying "when you know you know" has never been more true! Unsure who Patrick fell in love with first. Could have been myself but I am pretty sure it was my dog Mia who he fell for first! Only a few months after being together, Patrick moved in and we started playing house. Things together were just easy. We laugh a lot, sing and dance in our kitchen a lot, and just really enjoy being with each other and making memories together.

The Proposal

Patrick had asked on a Friday night to take Mia on a walk on Sunday in Boyce Park because the weather was supposed to be nice, I was reluctant because the weather wasn't supposed to be that nice. Sunny yes but still in the 40's! We went walking in Boyce Park on that Sunday but didn't walk to far because Mia was tired. We left where we were walking and he had asked to go to a different location because he had a "surprise" for me. He found a table for us to sit at and he whipped out a puzzle with a winter scene on the lid. I was confused as to why we were building this winter puzzle but quickly realized the pieces were painted with something else on them. I of course go immediately for the writing and Patrick had to steer me in a different direction and told me to work on the border first. As the puzzle pieces were coming together, Patrick had painted different things that represent us as a couple. NYC skyline was on the bottom left of the puzzle and right above it was a passport, shamrock, and the country of Italy (in green, white, and red). Next to Italy was a Celtic symbol, since we both have a Irish heritage, and then next to the symbol was a picture of two people dancing. Patrick obviously put the female in a white dress and the man in tux. Below the dancing couple was a drawing of Mia. Below Mia was a beach scene with two chairs and two drinks overlooking the ocean. In the bottom center of the puzzle were two penguins holding hands. (Penguins are my favorite animal and when they meet their soulmate, they are bonded for life!). Once most of the puzzle was put together, Patrick let me start working on the center of the puzzle in which it said Will You Marry Me? When I put the last piece of the center part together, Patrick was already walking over to me to get on one knee and he asked me to marry him! I obviously said yes and started screaming. Little did I know, he had planned for my cousin-in-law Carly, who is a photographer, to take pictures of the entire proposal along with getting proposal pictures taken in Boyce Park. We popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated the whole rest of the day while we told our family and friends. It was the best day of our lives thus far!
