How We Met
Despite being in playgroup together, our paths didn’t cross until senior year of high school, when we found ourselves sitting at opposite ends of the lunch table—Sara on the drama-filled side (surprise!). We had our first real conversation at After-Prom, and by Thanksgiving of that year, we knew we had something special. Since that moment, we've been inseparable, discovering that sometimes the best relationships come from the most unexpected beginnings.
The Proposal
Our night began at a gluten-free Mexican restaurant in my old neighborhood. We finished our meal faster than Sam expected, so we decided to take a leisurely walk across the Williamsburg Bridge. I had a feeling a proposal was coming, especially after Sam faked me out the week before, making me think he would pop the question then. When we arrived at the cozy bookstore that Sam had rented out, everything felt perfect. As we browsed the shelves, he pulled out a book to reveal the ring tucked inside its hollowed-out pages. When he asked me to marry him, I couldn’t help but say, “duh.”
