Our Story
How We Met
Rachel & Chris spent their first date making ravioli together in Chris’s kitchen, something neither of them had done before. The ravioli was a whole disaster and Chris was so nervous that Rachel was convinced he hated her for the first half of the date. A few weeks after the ravioli failure they called it official!
Thankfully Chris has really stepped up his pasta making skills from that first date!
The Proposal
Before Rachel’s Nana passed away she gave Rachel her beautiful engagement ring. Rachel immediately knew that she was going to use it as her own ring one day. In July of 2023 Rachel and Chris went to look at new settings for the ring, which ended up being step 1 of Rachel ruining the proposal. They left the store that day with a new setting purchased. The store needed a customer account to align the purchase to so Rachel suggested putting it under her existing account. Chris went back to the store a few days later after realizing they didn’t have his contact information.. they only had Rachel’s! His ‘Please call me when the ring is ready’ attempt did not work, and a couple weeks later the store left Rachel a message to come pick up the ring!
Here comes step 2 of how Rachel ruined the proposal. Instead of allowing Chris to go pick up the ring on his own Rachel INSISTED on driving him there and going into the store with him. While in the store Rachel tried on the ring for size and, in the moment, decided she was not going to take it off.
Rachel TOLD Chris they were engaged in the jewelry store, assured him it was okay that there was no big gesture, and asked for a buffalo chicken sandwich to celebrate.
