Our Story
How We Met
We met at Minnesota State University Mankato thanks to the brother of the bride, Matt Heiling, and the best man, Isaiah Rabata. We hung out together with our mutual friend group, partied together at the Mankato bars, and even had a college class together before we could no longer deny we were meant to be together.
The Proposal
One of our favorite activities to do together is hiking and enjoying the beautiful outdoors that Minnesota has to offer. So, Austin planned a trip to Duluth to hike one of our favorite spots, Ely's Peak. After a 30 minute trek to the top, Austin set up a tripod so we could take photos together with the stunning background. We took a few photos and then Austin got on one knee (Mickayla thought he was going to fall off the cliff when he backed up and this is all on videotape) and he asked Mickayla to spend forever with him. Mickayla of course said yes! Then, we finished the hike and went to a restaurant on Lake Superior to celebrate. When we got there both our families were there waiting to surprise us. It was an unforgettably perfect day.
