Our Story
How We Met
We first crossed paths in 2021 on Bumble, but little did we know that it would lead to something truly special.
Our first date was a Sunday night at a film festival, a perfect way to ease into the unknown. But as Christy was making her way there, she got a little bombshell: Ben was a former pro wrestler. At first, she thought about turning around—let’s just say she knew absolutely nothing about wrestling, and was worried his larger-than-life wrestling persona was who he actually was. It turns out, Ben was genuinely kind, humble, and easy to talk to.
From Ben’s perspective, meeting Christy was an exciting moment—he thought she was beautiful and was eager to get to know her better. As for the first date, Ben admits he was a little nervous that because they didn’t get to talk much during the film, Christy might not be interested in seeing him again; however, our connection only grew from there.
From that film festival evening to every day since, we’ve learned so much about each other. We’ve shared countless laughs, adventures, and small moments that have made us realize that we’re each other's perfect match. And now, we’re so excited to take this next step together, embarking on the biggest adventure of all.
The Proposal
Ben had carefully planned the perfect proposal, enlisting the help of his best man, Matt, and Matt’s fiancée, Alex, to make it all come together seamlessly.
On a beautiful evening during Christmas in the Oaks at City Park, while Christy was completely absorbed in the journey to the Botanical Garden, Ben secretly made sure to orchestrate the perfect moment. The couple was strolling along when Ben suggested they stop for a photo, asking Matt to take a picture of them in front of the breathtaking holiday displays.
As they posed for the photo, Ben took the opportunity to get down on one knee, revealing the best surprise. With a photographer nearby capturing every moment, she was caught off guard in the most beautiful way. She said yes, and in that magical moment, their lives together took on an even more meaningful chapter.
